"Please call to arrange a visit and to meet our staff"

Read What Patients say:

"In March this year I had surgery to remove bags from my lower eyes. My surgeon at BUPA Hospital Leeds, (now Spire Leeds Hospital), recommended upper and lower eye surgery. I am pleased with the results, but I feel that anyone thinking of having any form of surgery should investigate thoroughly".

Joan Gosney
Upper and lower eye surgery

"Since my surgery, I feel like a different woman! I am much more confident in myself and around others".

Siobhain McMenamin

> Many women find that the size and shape of their breasts affects their self-confidence. If you feel that your breasts are out of proportion with the rest of your body, or that age or breastfeeding have caused them to shrink or lose their shape, a breast enlargement operation (also known as breast augmentation or having breast implants) can help.

Breast implants are used to make your breasts larger, firmer and fuller. Breast implants are available in a variety of shapes, types and sizes and are usually made of an outer layer of silicone, filled with silicone gel. You'll be able to see different types of breast implant and discuss the advantages and disadvantages of each with your surgeon, before you decide which one is best for you.

> Some women find that their breasts begin to sag and droop as they get older. Weight loss, pregnancy and breastfeeding are usually contributory factors. A breast uplift, known as a mastopexy, is an operation to raise and re-shape your breasts.
During the breast lift operation, your surgeon removes excess skin from around the areola (the area of dark tissue surrounding the nipple) and sometimes from under your breasts. This creates a tighter cone of breast tissue and your nipple is moved to a higher position to give a more youthful and firm appearance.

> If you feel that your breasts are out of proportion with the rest of your body, or you find it difficult to find clothes that fit properly or feel uncomfortable when taking part in active sport, a breast reduction operation can help. Large breasts can cause back pain, postural problems and distress for some women.
Breast reduction is an operation to reduce breast size and weight. Your breasts can also be made firmer with smaller areolas (the darker skin around your nipples).

> Most women have naturally protruding nipples, but for some one or both nipples are inverted. Inverted nipples usually develop during puberty and are caused by short milk ducts. If you have had inverted nipples since puberty, the condition is unlikely to indicate an underlying medical problem. However, if your nipple has suddenly become inverted, you should get prompt advice from your GP, as it may be an indication of an underlying condition that may require treatment.

All operations carry risks as well as benefits. The chance of complications following breast augmentation depends on the type of operation and other factors such as your general health and your consultant surgeon will explain how the risks apply to you.
